martian.fm - from the north of the heart

MARTIAN FM has acquired the transcript of a private reading by seminal poet Allen Ginsberg of his seminal poem BLEAT to an audience of seminal hepcats in 1954. The significance of this can be neither overstated nor hyperbolised. This electrifying moment in American culture sparked the so-called “Bleat Generation” and a wave of vaguely cadenced non-sequiturs drawled brilliantly for hours on end by “bleatniks”. SPOILER: This early draft of BLEAT contains significantly more jazz than the published version.
